Gold and Platinum at MetrolExpo-2017

MWMLab was awarded the Gold and Platinum medals of the 13th Moscow International Forum and Exhibition "Precision Measurements — the Basis of Quality and Safety". The forum was held in Moscow on 17–19 May and brought together company executives, technical directors, chief metrologists, engineers, designers and technologists, as well as representatives of design and research institutions from Russia and both neighbouring and more distant countries.

"This year, alongside taking part in the MetrolExpo 2017 exhibition, the Centre became a laureate of two competitive programmes of the forum — the competition for the "Quality Mark" certificate and the competition for the Platinum and Gold medals," says Alexander Gusinsky, the Centre’s director.

The measuring-instrument Quality Mark and the forum’s Gold Medal were awarded to the R2-MWM-37 sweep VSWR and attenuation meter, while the Platinum Medal went to the G4-MWM-37 signal generator. The Quality Mark is awarded to instruments and equipment that have confirmed high metrological performance and quality, with a certificate entered in the state register of the Russian Federation. The forum’s medals are awarded to organisations for the development and manufacture of unique civil- and defence-purpose instruments and equipment; laureates receive a medal and a diploma with the right to use the medal’s image when marking a product or its certificate. The Platinum and Gold medals each have only one — the highest — degree.

According to Alexander Gusinsky, metrological support at the design, manufacturing and operation stages allows the Centre to produce high-precision instruments and equipment in demand in the markets of the CIS, Europe, East Asia and South America. Today the Centre includes a testing laboratory for microwave apparatus and devices and a calibration laboratory for microwave measuring instruments — both accredited within the Accreditation System for Verification, Testing and Calibration Laboratories of the Republic of Belarus.

Such awards are not the first in the Centre’s history: over the years, the Quality Mark and the forum’s Gold Medal have also been awarded to the complex reflection and transmission coefficient meter, the sweep VSWR and reflection meter, the terminating power meter, and signal generators of the corresponding frequency bands.
